Emoji Kitchen release history
Google has never published a changelog for Emoji Kitchen. There is no release page and no announcement for most of the drops. What does exist is a date stamped on every sticker the feature serves, and reading those stamps across all 619 supported emoji rebuilds the whole timeline: 147,000 pairings delivered in 43 releases between 1 October 2020 and 29 April 2026.

The feature grew in bursts, not steadily
Emoji Kitchen launched on 1 October 2020 with 10,693 pairings and 176 emoji, then went quiet for two years. 7 releases in 2024 added 79,621 pairings between them, which is 54% of everything the feature has ever shipped. The single largest landed on 30 May 2024: 33,138 pairings across 599 emoji in one day, more than three times launch day, with โ alone gaining 572.
Counting releases overstates how often it grows
9 of the 43 releases added fewer than 100 pairings, and several added fewer than five. Those are almost certainly corrections rather than content, so weight the table by pairings rather than rows. On that measure the most recent release, 29 April 2026, added 43, and the gaps between meaningful drops have been running at six months or more since early 2025.

How often does Emoji Kitchen get new combinations?
There is no schedule. Across 43 releases the gaps range from a single day to fourteen months. The pattern has been a handful of drops a year, with occasional very large ones, and the pace has slowed since the 30 May 2024 release.
Where do these release dates come from?
Every Emoji Kitchen sticker is served from a URL containing the date of the release that introduced it. Grouping all 147,000 pairings by that date gives the releases listed here. The dates are Googleโs own, not estimates from news coverage or app updates.
Why is the combination I want still missing?
Only 619 emoji support Emoji Kitchen at all, and even between two supported emoji the artwork has to be drawn by hand, so gaps are normal. Waiting is a poor strategy: the recent releases have been small, and the last one added 43 pairings.
