Emoji Kitchen by the numbers
Google has never published a changelog for Emoji Kitchen, but every sticker it serves is stamped with the release that introduced it. Reading those stamps across all 619 supported emoji gives the whole picture: 147,000 unique pairings, built up over 43 releases between 1 October 2020 and 29 April 2026.
The ten most recent releases
Each row is a day Google shipped new combinations, with the number of pairings it added. The largest of all time landed on 30 May 2024 and brought 33,138 at once.

Coverage is uneven, and not in the way you would guess
Only 159 of the 619 emoji mix with every other one. The typical emoji pairs with 472, and the leanest, ๐ฆ, manages just 273. Popularity is not what decides this. Shape is. Emoji that can be laid over anything, like fire or a tornado, tend to finish their grids, while expressive animal faces with ears and snouts to preserve usually stall around 350. That is why the shark has more combinations than the dog.
What the release dates are good for
If you tried a combination once and found nothing, the answer may simply be out of date. Several emoji have been transformed by a single release: the cloud launched with six pairings in 2020 and gained 258 in one go in February 2026. Every hub page here lists its own emoji release history, so you can see at a glance whether a set is finished, still growing, or has not been touched in years.
Figures counted from the Emoji Kitchen sticker assets Google serves through Gboard. Each combination carries the date of the release that introduced it, and the totals above count each pair once.
