There is no single Caribbean flag emoji, which surprises a lot of people who search for one. What exists is a flag for each country and territory in the region, 28 of them, and this page lists every one. Thirteen belong to independent states such as ๐ฏ๐ฒ Jamaica, ๐จ๐บ Cuba, ๐ญ๐น Haiti and ๐น๐น Trinidad & Tobago. The other fifteen belong to territories tied to the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands or the United States, which is why ๐ต๐ท Puerto Rico, ๐จ๐ผ Curaรงao and ๐ฌ๐ต Guadeloupe sit next to them. The one flag with Caribbean in its name, ๐ง๐ถ Caribbean Netherlands, is the one search engines tend to hand you, but it only covers three small Dutch islands. Diaspora bios, carnival posts and island-hopping travel captions usually want the specific flag instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a Caribbean flag emoji?โผ
No. Unicode has no flag for the Caribbean as a region, and the CARICOM flag has no emoji either. ๐ง๐ถ Caribbean Netherlands is the only flag with Caribbean in its name, and it stands for Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius only.
Why does the St. Martin flag look exactly like the French flag?โผ
Because it is the French flag. We checked the image files on 2026-10-17 and ๐ฒ๐ซ is identical to ๐ซ๐ท on Apple, Google, Twitter/X and OpenMoji. The French half of Saint Martin is a French overseas collectivity, and its emoji uses the national flag.
Why do Caribbean flags show as two letters on my computer?โผ
Each flag is a pair of regional indicator letters, and Windows' emoji font has no artwork for country flags, so it shows the letters themselves, such as JM for Jamaica or PR for Puerto Rico. The flag is still there; paste it into a phone and it appears.
None of these flags is stored as a picture. Each one is two regional indicator letters that spell the territory's ISO 3166 code: ๐ฏ๐ฒ is J plus M, ๐ง๐ง is B plus B, ๐ป๐จ is V plus C. Your phone looks the pair up and draws the matching artwork. That is also why the same flags show up as plain letter pairs on Windows, whose emoji font ships no country flags at all, so a Jamaican flag sent from an iPhone arrives on a Windows PC as the letters JM.
Four flags where the artwork is not what you expect
We compared the actual image files Apple, Google, Twitter/X and OpenMoji publish for these flags on 2026-10-17. ๐ฒ๐ซ St. Martin is byte for byte the same file as ๐ซ๐ท France on all four, because the French side of the island officially flies the tricolour. ๐ง๐ถ Caribbean Netherlands is drawn with Bonaire's flag everywhere, so Saba and Sint Eustatius, which do have flags of their own, get no emoji for them. ๐ฒ๐ถ Martinique differs by platform: Apple and Google draw a red, green and black flag, while Twitter/X still shows the older design with four white snakes. ๐ฌ๐ต Guadeloupe gets its regional sun and fleur-de-lis design rather than the French tricolour.
Islands with two flags, and flags with no island to themselves
Saint Martin is one island split between two countries, so it has two emoji: ๐ฒ๐ซ for the French north and ๐ธ๐ฝ Sint Maarten for the Dutch south. Hispaniola is shared too, by ๐ญ๐น Haiti and ๐ฉ๐ด the Dominican Republic. Going the other way, ๐ฐ๐ณ St. Kitts & Nevis, ๐น๐น Trinidad & Tobago and ๐ฆ๐ฌ Antigua & Barbuda each cover two islands with one flag. When you build a travel post around a specific island, check which flag actually belongs to it, because the obvious guess is wrong more often here than anywhere else.
