What Does the ๐ beaming face with smiling eyes Emoji Mean?
A broad grin showing the upper teeth, with both eyes squeezed into happy arcs. The closed eyes are what separate it from the other grinning faces: this one is caught mid-laugh rather than simply pleased, and the effect is energetic enough that it rarely reads as polite or restrained. Of the dozen or so grinning variants, this is the one that commits hardest, and the teeth are a large part of why.

Usage: Genuine delight, mostly, in reaction to good news or a joke that actually landed. It carries more force than a plain smile and less than outright crying with laughter, which puts it in a useful middle register. Some people read the visible teeth as slightly manic, which cuts against the intended warmth.
Encoded in Unicode 6.0 in 2010. Its official name was changed in a later revision from grinning face with smiling eyes to beaming face with smiling eyes, one of a handful of renames made to reduce confusion between near-identical smileys.
