Shark Emoji Kitchen
Shark sat out the first two and a half years of Emoji Kitchen. It turned up on 18 April 2023 with 179 pairings already built, then more than doubled in one release eighteen months later when Google added 250 at once. It now mixes with 601 of the 619 supported emoji. That is top-tier reach for an animal that joined late, and only eighteen combinations are still missing.

The October 2024 jump is the whole story
Most base emoji grow in small increments. Twenty here, forty there, usually tracking whatever else Google shipped that quarter. Shark did not. The 21 October 2024 release added 250 pairings in a single go and took it from a mid-table animal to one of the most mixable emoji in the set. Nothing in the release data explains why shark got that treatment while deer, which has been there since launch day, still sits at 414. If you tried shark mashups before late 2024 and found the selection thin, that is why. Try again.
What still returns nothing
Eighteen partners have no shark sticker, and the list is strange. Boomerang, chopsticks, clinking glasses, the diya lamp and feet are all absent, which you might expect for low-traffic emoji. The real surprise is the plain red heart, which has no shark pairing at all even though heart eyes and pink heart both work. If you want an affectionate shark, reach for one of those two instead.

Shark Emoji Kitchen FAQ
Why did shark mashups get so much better in 2024?
Google shipped 250 new shark pairings on 21 October 2024, the biggest single addition in shark's history. Before that release it had roughly 350 partners. If your last attempt was earlier, most of what you remember as missing now exists.
Can I mix shark with the red heart?
Not currently. The red heart is one of eighteen emoji that still return nothing when paired with shark. Heart eyes and pink heart both produce stickers, so those are the usual substitutes for an affectionate version.
Does it matter which emoji I pick first?
No. Emoji Kitchen makes one sticker per pair, so shark plus fire and fire plus shark give you the same image. The grid above already uses whichever ordering Google stored for each combination.
