What Are Unicode Emoji Versions?
The Unicode Consortium is the standards body responsible for defining which emojis exist and what they look like across all devices. Each major Unicode release introduces new emoji characters that are then adopted by Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, and other platform vendors. Version numbers like 15.0, 15.1, and 16.0 represent these releases, each adding dozens or even hundreds of new emojis.
